Partner Highlight: CU Folsom Field

CU Boulder leads the way in sustainability, boasting many years of successful waste diversion programs. Due to contamination challenges at the source of collection, it has been challenging to include certified compostable products in CU Boulder’s compost stream or have front of house compost capture. In early 2023, Eco-Products began collaborating with the CU Sports Sustainability Team-- Ralphie’s Green Stampede , to engage with Levy Restaurants, Sysco, and A1 Organics to explore updated waste diversion opportunities at their Folsom Field football games. Using the CIRC program as a framework, Eco-Products helped CU Athletics events meet the strict contamination mitigation needed to ensure effective processing of a high-quality compost and increase diversion from the landfill. We’re proud to say that in 2024, these efforts resulted in six highly successful organics drops comingled with certified compostables with minimal contamination.
