About Us

Eco-Products has been providing the foodservice industry with the broadest array of packaging made with renewable and post-consumer recycled content available anywhere for the last 20 years.

How We Started

In 1990 Kent and Steve Savage founded Eco-Products in Boulder, Colorado. For the first 15 years they distributed office and building supplies made from recycled materials. That changed in the mid 2000’s when the first commercialized versions of single-use compostable packaging became available, and Eco-Products shifted focus to the foodservice industry.

If we’ve learned anything during the last 30-plus years, it is that this category is dynamic, ever-evolving, and requires a mix of mission-driven dedication and resource deployment that only Eco-Products can provide.

In 2017, Eco-Products opened an office in Europe to meet the growing demands for the European markets.

What makes
Eco-Products different?

Since the very beginning, our sole focus has been on products that are either renewable and compostable, or are made with post-consumer recycled content.

 Product Claims You Can Trust

We know that product claims can be confusing, and that sometimes it is hard to figure out if an item has all of the traits you are looking for.

We are committed to making sure there is full transparency around every product we sell.

For the products that are compostable, we will always be clear around which third-party certifications, approvals, and standards apply. We also clearly communicate which of our products are NOT compostable - our BlueStripe™ products are made with post-consumer recycled content.

Storytelling Support and Content Generation

Most operators who make the switch to more sustainable packaging are looking to communicate with their customers about it, and we can help with that, too.

Whether it is basic signage to help your guests know which bin to put compostable products in, or something more involved like a video case study, our Marketing team has done it all and is here to help with all of your communications needs.

Size and Scale to Make an Impact

We’ve been doing this longer than anyone, and over that time we’ve developed relationships with just about every critical stakeholder up and down the value chain – everyone from material suppliers, to distributors, to industry associations, to the composters and haulers that make organics diversion possible.

We’re also lucky to have the resources and support of our parent company, Novolex, as we look for new ways to bring the industry’s best products to market, and increase the likelihood that they will have access to viable recovery systems.
